The Phoenix Patriot Foundations - Purple Heart Patriots Challenge is a signature event of K38 Water Safety since 2010 and is produced in Southern California. Participants are selected from the Wounded Warrior projects and must undergo a vetting program and orientation training by K38 and Phoenix Patriot Foundation staff members.

The Purple Heart Patriot PWC Challenge is a 135 mile Open Ocean transit on Kawasaki JET SKI® watercraft. Kawasaki Ultra LX and 15-F JET SKI® sit down 3 person seater watercraft are used. K38 support staff follows the wounded warriors alongside the grueling trek with rescue boards and emergency equipment, tracking devices and land support along the grueling 135 mile transit.

The Purple Heart Patriots PWC Challenge begins at Cabrillo Beach, San Pedro California with an early morning launch. The riders commences to drive their JETSKIS to Dana Point Harbor for a refueling segment. The third stop is located at Oceanside Harbor Department. The USCG Auxiliary supports the safety stop in Oceanside along with the Oceanside Harbor Department. Upon refueling and a lunch break courtesy of the Auxiliarists, the riders commence to enter San Diego Harbor and proceed to their final destination to Coronado at the Naval Amphibious Base. After event celebration and fundraising is held at THE LOCAL in downtown San Diego, California USA.

The event begins on Veteran's day with preparations for the launch on observing our nations Veterans Day 2013. This is the third annual Purple Heart Patriots Challenge. The event is produced by K38 Water Safety and supported by Kawasaki Motors Corporation USA
